***I'm submitting this as an entry in the Day of the Dead Contest being held by :icondelectable-decadence.
It's also available for sale (in a limited run of 8 bags) at etsy [link]!
You might think the title of this piece is a reference to the nifty skulls pattern on the fabric I found in the remnant bin. But no, it's all about the process of making it. First I found I apparently have no black thread in the house---I decided gray would work fine. Then I realized I'd bought the wrong type of bobbin for my machine; luckily I still had two empty ones from my starter pack. Next the upper thread on my machine kept snagging when I tried to pull the lower thread up. I took things apart twice to get that fixed, which involved lots of things falling on the ground and getting lost on the carpet, and plenty of me swearing.
But when everything was working, it took me less than fifteen minutes each to make three of these.
Once I have my etsy shop up, these will make great party favor bags, dice bags, jewelry bags, gift bags, etc.!
Oh, wait, I almost forgot. In addition to all of the above, it had been long enough since I'd used this machine that I wanted to refresh my memory on threading everything. But I couldn't find the manual ANYWHERE. So after about 20 minutes of fruitless searching (involving one arachnid encounter), I ended up downloading the thing off the internet. Thank goodness for computers.
Still behind .. so more fav and run .. but know if I'm faving you .. I'm lovin it!

that has got to be one of the best prints I have ever seen! I love how you applied it, that will be so nice to keep little trinkets organized in a purse or something. I too have lost my manual, but I didn't go online to find it. Instead I just tinkered around the machine with materials and tensions I often use and wrote them down in a little journal, and every time I do something different I write that down as well. If I use a particular fabric often I usually place a colored sticky inside too-- that way I know from my own experience what is best

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
